And all I can say is it is about time!
He agreed to plead guilty to two felony counts of obstruction of justice and to plead no contest to a felony count of assault on a police officer; to pay restitution to the city of $1 million; to surrender his law license, forfeit his state pension to the city and be barred from elective office for five years; and to serve 120 days in the Wayne County jail, followed by five years’ probation. Sorry, but I have to comment on Sarah "Barracuda" Palin... cause it's getting ridonkulous.
Mainly, let's comment on her demeaning statements about Barack Obama's lack of experience. Hmm, let's see... Obama may have started as a community organizer, but this shows that he actually cares about the people around him. And he made major changes where he was during his activist era.
But even from there, let's look at the fact that he's representing Chicago and all of Illinois, for that matter. That means that he represents 9.7 million people. How many does Palin represent? Count 'em up... 1, 2, 3, ... 683,000 (and change). That means that Obama has been representing 7x as many people, in about the same about of time that she has been governor. How is he less experienced again?!
I'd also like to share some facts, provided by MoveOn.org... granted it's slightly biases and I haven't checked the details... but I think it proves the point (their references are at the end):
- Palin recently said that the war in Iraq is "God's task." She's even admitted she hasn't thought about the war much—just last year she was quoted saying, "I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq." 1, 2
- Palin has actively sought the support of the fringe Alaska Independence Party. Six months ago, Palin told members of the group—who advocate for a vote on secession from the union—to "keep up the good work" and "wished the party luck on what she called its 'inspiring convention.'" 3
- Palin wants to teach creationism in public schools. She hasn't made clear whether she thinks evolution is a fact.4
- Palin doesn't believe that humans contribute to global warming. Speaking about climate change, she said, "I'm not one though who would attribute it to being manmade." 5
- Palin has close ties to Big Oil. Her inauguration was even sponsored by BP. 6
- Palin is extremely anti-choice. She doesn't even support abortion in the case of rape or incest. 7
- Palin opposes comprehensive sex-ed in public schools. She's said she will only support abstinence-only approaches. 8
- As mayor, Palin tried to ban books from the library. Palin asked the library how she might go about banning books because some had inappropriate language in them—shocking the librarian, Mary Ellen Baker. According to Time, "news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor." 9
- She DID support the Bridge to Nowhere (before she opposed it). Palin claimed that she said "thanks, but no thanks" to the infamous Bridge to Nowhere. But in 2006, Palin supported the project repeatedly, saying that Alaska should take advantage of earmarks "while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist." 10
Anyways, the further this election goes on the more disgusted I become of McCain/Palin. At every chance they get the try and take nasty stabs at Obama and Biden. What do Obama and Biden do? They commend McCain on his military service and stand up for Palin, asking that people not address family issues that seem to be rampant.
Obama and Biden represent nothing but class. They refuse smear campaigning and have defended themselves against all the false statements that McCain/Palin seem more than willing to put out.
Do they not realize how petty and low they are looking?

I had to stop watching the RNC because the more they talked, the more sick to my stomach I felt. Not that I would have considered voting for McCain, but what I've heard out of their own mouths has cemented how my vote will go in November.
Just a few more thoughts:
Checking details before writing would be a responsible idea.
So what is wrong with teaching creationism vs. or with evolution. When has evolution progressed from a theory to a "fact" scientific law? Neither theory are able to be proved as you cannot reenact either situation. Palin did not promote forcing creationism to be taught in school but rather that free discussion should be allowed. There are many people, highly educated, that firmly believe in creationism. To them by belittling their "theory" is wrong.
Also, check with many other leading scientists who don't believe that we are facing global warming. It may be a good idea to read articles from both sides of an issue with an open mind.
Is it wrong to remove books from a public library that have questionable content? Do you feel that we have the right to ban pornography or is that taking away our freedom or speech as well?
When has being "extremely anti-choice" been a reason to prevent one from running from office or a determinant of their dangerous tendencies as a candidate? Pro-life candidates have just as much right to office as do pro-choice candidates. And abstinence from sex is still the only 100% proven effective method of preventing conception and STDs.
Just a few thoughts for you to think about.

before i address the attacks, those were not my points, but one that an article (which i cited) put forth.
1. i did not discredit creationism. and your wrong to assume that i believe in evolution. i may not believe in a 24 hour 6 day creation, but that doesn't mean that i don't think that God wasn't part of it. there is a whole spectrum when it comes to Christian beliefs on the issue. i would advise you to do a little more research before assuming its black and white. and to think that we as human could even have it right. its a secondary issue of the faith, that will not determine salvation and one that i'm open to hearing sides from. also, science is not out to prove a god, it's actually outside the realm of science to do. and at the same time, the bible is not history. the genesis account is poetical. please remember that i am a Christian who also studied has a degree in science from a highly reputable Christian college.
2. i'm sorry, but there is global. scientist who don't believe it are misguided. the levels of CO2 in the ice at the polar ice caps has been taken (ice cores cut into the ice down to the depth of hundrends if not more years). the CO2 levels are getting higher. this is evidence of global warming.
3. per banning books. since when is is wrong to let people encounter tough issues. it makes you grow. to relate this to porn however is wrong. books are fiction, or non-fiction but are not pornographic. if they were they would not be in a school library. usually the books that are being banned are books that would actually let people understand a world outside them. recently i received an email about a young teacher who introduced a book to student her students about the rape of a young girl (Speak). when the book was forbidden more children read it and one girl actually came to the teacher to tell her that she had been raped. who this have happened otherwise? who are we to determine what is beneficial?
4. when to comes to choice, i am pro-life. but that doesn't mean that i think any individual has the right to make up the minds of a nation. in fact, when abortion was illegal, back alley abortions lead to more hideous crimes against the unborn child.
so, being open minded and checking details would be a responsible idea. just some thoughts to think about.
